Newt Gingrich viewed the recent midterm election as favorable for the United States. He cautioned that Democrats may struggle in 2028 if they follow a hard-left agenda without working alongside President Trump. He emphasized that party harmony and pragmatic strategies will be more important than speculative narratives. Gingrich also claimed that the 2028 Republican presidential contest may not be as broad as many predict, minimizing the impact of the midterm losses on the GOP field. The race’s openness will depend on filing deadlines for candidates and voter participation, he said.
