Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry and Science Minister, criticised Labour’s internal culture after his proposal to allow a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his statement at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, stating reporters: "put me in a cold chamber, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to declare events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over strategy and leadership.
