A majority of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the state’s recent wage proposal, prompting educators in public schools to strike.

The AEU declared a labor pullout when the vote revealed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

Strike action is confirmed and planned to go ahead without fresh talks planned at this stage.

Public school students will face disruptions as teachers walk off the job.
