Harden appeared for for Somerset (1985-1998), and also for Yorkshire (1999-2000), including time in NZ. He later moved to New Zealand, and operates a financial advisory firm. He is married to Rachel Reese, whom he helped campaign for Nelson mayor, wedding occurred in 2017; they have three children from previous relationships.
