penarth.nub.newsPenarth town appeared at a £20m sheltered homes project to deliver a new extra-care facility for older people, with 70 affordable flats and on-site care. Work was due to start in summer 2024 and expected to take around two years. Vale of Glamorgan Council and Wales & West Housing are delivering the scheme, with land leased to WWH and funding from the Housing with Care Fund and Welsh Government's Social Housing Grant. Adjacent plans improving highway access and planned 32 affordable independent homes on adjoining land. This represents a significant step in helping to address concerns for Penarth. Further updates are expected as work proceeds.
