It was a night to forget for Melbourne Victory, beaten 3-0 by Kingborough Lions in the Australia Cup at the Showgrounds in Hobart. Around 3,000 fans turned up and watched the A-League side lose pretty badly, that defeat sending Victory out of the cup straight away. Down the road, Melbourne City cruised past Weston Bears 3-0 without real stress. The two Melbourne sides now press on to the round of 16. Attention turns back to the league for Victory after a bruising night in Hobart.
